Thanks to Philip Bloom for the review of Canon XA 10 and XF 100 camcorders!

As you know I like taking pictures with my Nikon D300. But during our vacations in America in June, I started to make movies with my brand new Sony NEX VG10. This full HD camcorder with interchangeable lenses has powerful features. The only weak point is the weight of this camera when the 18-200 mm lens is plugged on it.

Well, after 6 months using this unique camera, as a true geek, I got the feeling it was time to upgrade to a professional camcorder, but which one?

After a week studying pro cams, I finally selected the Canon XA 10 and the Canon XF 100.

The first one is one of the smallest professional camcorder. This cam has really impressive features for it’s size and and price range (less than $1.900). This compact camera is perfect for making nice movies on travel.

The second one, the XF 100 is quite bigger and heavier, but not so much. This is a truly professional camcorder with all features needed to make high quality movies. It’s quite expensive (around $4.000) but this price is justified by it’s serious finish and it’s powerful features.

Now, the choice between these two cameras is difficult because each one has it’s pros and cons. Hopefully, I found this video from Philip Bloom, movie director, filmmaker and blogger. He shares with us his professional point of view about the Canon XA 10 and XF 100. Thank you so much Philip for sharing your complete review of these camcorders and more specifically for comparing these two devices. Your analyze is a valuable help to take my decision.

New design for Watsupmanu: Salju, the Tumblr-like theme for WordPress

After almost 2 years of loyal service, I think it is time to change the design of Watsupmanu.com. Dear english readers, I have to confess I have tested a new theme of the blog only on the french version during the last 6 months. But now, time has come to upgrade the english one!

So, as you can see the style of the blog has been completely remolded. This new design is based on a free Tumblr-like theme for WordPress called Salju. Of course, I have changed a lots of things from the original theme to get what I need exactly.

Where can I play softball in Paris?

After a long stay in the USA, I decided to prolong the pleasure in France in playing baseball… Or more specifically Softball (a softer version of this sport which also have the advantage to be played in mixed team). Then, I found a softball team named BK Paris and I will join them for their next training session. Sure it’s a good way to keep the american spirit here in Paris… I hope so!

Dick’s sporting goods, it’s all about sport!

Hi my friends, I am so excited to share with you my first visit at Dick’s sporting goods (on the road from San Diego to Palm Springs). This sports store is really awesome! There is so much stuff to play baseball or football (and all other sports you like). Wow it’s so cool! I could spend all day long in this store (but I’m afraid my bank account would seriously suffer of it).

Back to the USA on June

Yes, we will be back to the US on June. This time, we have planned to settle for one month. We will start our trip in Los Angeles, then we’ll go to San Diego and Palm Springs. Afterward, we will visit few national parks and stay 4 days in Las Vegas. Just enough time to spend any bucks at the Bellagio and make a short tramp to the Skywalk in the Hualapai territory. Then we’ll cross the death valley and reach San Francisco for one week. There, we have planned to support our Giants at the AT&T park and spend good time visiting this marvellous city. Guys, I confess that I am already impatient to take off…

I love my new business card

You know, even if I frequently receive parcels, I am always like a child opening a gift at the bottom of Christmas tree. So, I was very excited to unpack this box containing my new business cards delivered by Printoclock. I hope you will love these cards as much as I do. Special thanks to my friend Fred Qora for designing it.
